OU Escapes Cincinnati 31-29

I don't understand Brent Venerables the defensive Coordinators mindset on defense.  He continues to run the 5 defensive back set even though teams with the exception of Florida State ( Who did not have that much of a run game) are piling up over three hundred yards a game running the football. I would have never thought an OU team could be so inept at stopping the run.  OU needs to stop the run first before stopping the pass which it continues to struggle with as well. Even though they have 5 defensive backs it seems like teams have no trouble getting in the open to catch the ball.  I know we are 4-0 but we don't beat teams like we have the talent to.  On the positive note Landry Jones played well, Cameron Kenney dropped another sure touchdown that would have placed us beyond reach of CIncinnati and maybe we would have not had a Nail biter.  Again Brent Venerables in the last drive of CIncinnati goes to the prevent defense which basically lets the offense catch the ball for huge yardage because we play like 15 yeards off the receiver. They score in a few seconds and we have to recover an onside kick to ice the game.  Well we cannot play this kind of defense against Texas. Even though they lost to UCLA they still will play lights out against us. On the plus side they are not supposed to have a running game but I am sure we will give them one.  Texas cannot adjust yet to having a drop back standard passer instead of a run and gun Colt Mccoy type QB.  We have to win this game.  We need Fleming to play at cornerback instead of the true freshman Aaron Colvin.  Go Sooners win by one or a hundred over Texas  GO SOONERS.
